The American company SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 launch vehicle, which will put 40 commercial satellites of the British company OneWeb into orbit. The company’s website broadcast the launch.

The launch took place on January 9 at 23:50 US East Coast time (7:50 January 10 Moscow time). The rocket with satellites was launched from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral in Florida.

This is the second launch of OneWeb satellites using SpaceX carriers.

OneWeb is SpaceX’s main competitor in the field of satellite Internet, but the British company still has fewer devices in orbit.

On January 3, it was reported that SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 booster into space, the first stage of which had previously been used in 14 flights. It is expected that the rocket element will automatically descend to Earth, after which it can be used further.
