The propaganda machine, as the material says, reduces the consequences of armed conflict, so the Russians began to worry less.
In Russia, popular support for the war is growing, and citizens can “endure” a new wave of mobilization to the ranks of the RF Armed Forces. The Wall Street Journal writes about it, citing data from a closed survey conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Foundation.
Journalists recall that when Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on partial mobilization in September, public support for the war dropped to 34 percent.
Already in November, when conscription into the ranks of the Russian troops was officially completed, this figure rose again – up to 80%.
In a comment he gave to reporters, a former Kremlin official suggested that the Russians would “endure” another wave of mobilization, in which several hundred thousand more fighters could be called into the RF Armed Forces. The former employee of the presidential administration defended this opinion with the results of closed internal surveys commissioned by the authorities.
Lev Gudkov, former head of the Independent Analytical Levada Center, also confirmed that the Russians are becoming more loyal to all-out war in Ukraine and the deaths of tens of thousands of people. According to him, the propaganda machine reduces the consequences of armed conflict.
Commenting on the mood in Russian society, Gudkov said, “On an everyday level, the war does not currently cause strong anxiety and objections among Russians.”
It should be noted that in the January 15 report of the American Institute for War Studies (ISW), Vladimir Putin warned that he would change his strategy in the war against Ukraine. According to analysts, the Kremlin wants to seize the initiative at the front, where it accelerates propaganda and creates combat-ready forces.
Ukrainian military intelligence had warned days ago that the Kremlin is looking to build an army of two million that would require a new mobilization announcement.
