SBU called the possible causes of the helicopter crash near Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine named the reasons that could lead to the crash of a rescue helicopter in Brovary in the Kyiv region, where the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denis Monastyrsky, died.

Experts are considering three versions of the crash: a violation of flight rules, a technical malfunction of the helicopter and deliberate actions to destroy the aircraft.

“SBU employees are carrying out a set of investigative and operational measures to establish all the causal relationships and details of the tragedy,” – reported in the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine.

On the morning of January 18, 2023, the Ukrainian media reported a strong explosion in the city of Brovary, Kyiv region. Later it became known that the helicopter of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine crashed near the kindergarten, a fire started at the crash site. It is known about 18 dead, including three children.

Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky and his deputy Yevgeny Yenin were on board the helicopter. Both of them died. Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the SBU and the police to find out all the circumstances of the helicopter crash.
