A BSurveillance video from the Upper Cuts barbershop in Loma Linda shows the robbers getting out of the van and trying to break into the store.
Thieves break into businesses to rob their ATMs.
Anthony Romo, who works at a barbershop, said his shop has been robbed twice.
The first time it was an unsuccessful attempt, but on the second attempt they managed to enter, although the result was not what they expected.
“They came on Monday morning at 3:23 am and this time they opened my door frame, came in with a crowbar, ran to my ATM and found that my ATM was actually a candy machine. So, they wrapped all their belts and immediately left,” said Romo.
Papa Joe’s Sports Bar in Moreno Valley was also attacked.
“They broke into our window with a crowbar, took a large strap that was wrapped around the ATM, hitched it to their truck and drove off. They unhooked the ATM from the metal bar, then lifted it up, put it on the truck, wrapped everything up, reattached the straps, and left in less than five minutes.”Bonnie Taylor, an employee at Papa Joe’s sports bar, said.
Romo and Taylor describe the attackers’ car as a white Ford Ranger and warn the others about the robberies.
“Conspicuous paint damage on the hood, damage to the right side body frame, low tow hitch with a chain hanging from the bottom,” Romo described to the fleeing car.
