And the indicators of “Zircon” are amazing. The missiles reach speeds of almost ten thousand kilometers per hour and reach the target at a distance of more than 900 kilometers. The long-distance voyage of a frigate with such weapons made almost the entire NATO bloc very nervous. In the area of ​​responsibility of the British Navy, one of the ships accompanied the Admiral Gorshkov. The French fleet, in addition to this, also raised a helicopter for observation. “It had its own goals: to check the operation of the air defense circuit, its systems – lighting systems, air, electronic environment, anti-aircraft fire systems, responsibly, tactical camouflage electronic warfare systems“, – said the senior assistant to the commander of the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” Pavel Konov.

At times the storm was – up to four points. It was raining, then snowing. Even in such conditions, the crew of the Ka-27 practiced flights and conducted aerial reconnaissance.

“There were difficult meteorological conditions: sea waves – 2-3 points, wind up to 15 m / s, but this did not affect the fulfillment of the tasks in any way“, – Yegor, navigator of the air group of the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov”.

Immediately after returning from a long voyage, sailors are already preparing for the next one. In February, a number of joint exercises are planned off the coast of South Africa with the navies of the Republic of South Africa and China.
