NATO enlargement: Turkey outraged by manifestations of anti-Islamic racism in the EU

The Turkish Security Council was harshly criticized by those who encouraged and condoned acts contrary to the religious values of billions of people.

While Turkey supports the “open door” policy of the North Atlantic Alliance, it strongly condemns the attacks on the values of billions of people, which is a manifestation of anti-Islamic racism. This statement was made by the country’s Security Council, the ministry’s press service reported on January 25.

The attendees of the Security Council meeting chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in their statement, drew attention to the fact that countries wishing to join NATO must act in accordance with the laws and spirit of the Alliance.

The Security Council said, “It is extremely important that states wishing to join the Alliance fulfill their obligations under the memorandum of understanding in the fight against terrorist organizations as soon as possible.”

In addition, the meeting was harshly criticized against those who encouraged and condoned actions against the sacred values of religion, freedom of conscience and thought, which are the sacred values of billions of people.

The meeting participants said, “It is not possible to explain these actions with democracy and freedom of expression. Those who encourage them are partners in hate crimes and ignore human rights.”

The Turkish Security Council’s statement came amid a scandal in Sweden after Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the far-right Hard Deal party in Denmark, publicly burned the Qur’an. Remember that he set fire to a holy book for all Muslims in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on 21 December. He then said that he will continue such actions in the future.
