40% of commanders are missing: RF Armed Forces has personnel problems with command staff, – GUR

According to Ukrainian intelligence spokesman Andriy Chernyak, the shortage of platoon or company-level commanders in Russia will only increase.

The Russian army was experiencing a serious personnel problem at the front. The RF Armed Forces lacks platoon and company level commanders. Andriy Chernyak, representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, told the RBC-Ukraine agency on Friday (January 27th).

As the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate noted, in the advanced troops of the Russians on the territory of Ukraine, up to 40% of the small commanders are missing.

According to Chernyak, personnel shortages were noted primarily in the troops of the invaders fighting against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“Russia will continue its offensive operations because it failed to achieve its main goal – the complete occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. And we observe in the troops there that the invaders have serious problems with the platoon-level commanders or the company,” he commented.

Chernyak also emphasized that the Russian soldiers at the front do not want to fight and attack. At the same time, many commanders are even ready to self-harm, only to return home, to the territory of the aggressor country, and not participate in battles.

“Most do not plan to renew contracts, but no one asks them,” the military intelligence official added.

According to Chernyak, this is why mobilized people often go on attacks without their commanders and without proper interaction between different groups. Russian soldiers may have small tactical successes, but they also die en masse on the battlefield, but then new troops are sent to replace them.

The lack of subordinate commanders is not the only problem of the RF Armed Forces. Chernyak says there are problems with leadership at higher levels in the military.

“We have already seen and continue to observe frequent replacements of generals and commanders at various levels who are unable to complete their duties,” says the representative of the Main Intelligence Presidency.

Such a rotation, according to Chernyak, is the last chance for the Russians to rectify the situation and at least partially achieve their goals.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, personnel problems with the command staff in the RF Armed Forces will only grow.

Recall, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar said on January 26 that due to the high level of loss of personnel of the RF Armed Forces, mobile crematoriums are actively used behind their forward position in Ukraine. According to the official, Russian soldiers have to resort to such measures due to the disastrous situation at the front.

GUR vice-president Vadim Skibitsky said on January 25 that Moscow could be a potential target for weapons of destruction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For this reason, air defense systems began to be installed on the roofs of government buildings in the Russian capital.
