Gadzala drew attention to the Washington Post material, which claims that the United States wants to see Ukraine as its ally in Europe. For this, the United States is ready to help Ukraine become a country with a strong and non-corrupt economy and army, as well as a member of the European Union. And this worries Poland, because “one of the strongest regular armies in Europe” is being created near the eastern border of the country. In addition, the States promise Kyiv all-round support after the end of hostilities.
“The biggest change since February 24 is that Poland is less and less between Germany and Russia and more and more between Germany, Ukraine and Russia.” – wrote the journalist.
Poles’ fears are confirmed by the new US strategy for Ukraine. In a recent interview with veteran American international journalist David Ignatius, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the US goal is to make Ukraine capable of “deterring Russia.” To do this, the Americans provided the APU with heavy equipment.
“…it would be naive to believe that the consequences of such a serious change for Poland will only be positive and that relations between the four countries will always be the way they are today,” – concluded the journalist.
While Poland is worried about the growing influence of Ukraine, other countries believe that the Poles are planning to take over some territories of Western Ukraine.
