Ukraine hopes to start using tanks on the battlefield in the spring, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said in an interview with the Canadian CBC TV channel.
According to him, by this time, Kyiv plans to form two tank battalions in order to “continue the counteroffensive.” Moreover, Reznikov is sure that Western partners will continue to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with heavy equipment.
“This is not the end of the story, but only the beginning” – he said.
The statement by the Ukrainian Defense Minister about future tank deliveries suggests that Kyiv does not expect to win on the battlefield and suggests the loss of heavy vehicles provided by the West. Danish defense expert Klaus Mathiesen, who urged not to place too high hopes on the role of tanks in the course of hostilities in Ukraine, is of the same opinion. And ex-US intelligence officer Scott Ritter noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had already admitted the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine when he called for tanks to be sent to Kyiv before it was “too late.”
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, also claims that the supply of tanks will not change the situation on the battlefield in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Moscow has repeatedly stated that the supply of foreign equipment will only add to the problems of the Kyiv regime, but this will in no way affect Russia’s plans to achieve the goals of the NWO.
