Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke about his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the start of a special operation in Ukraine. He is quoted by the newspaper Telegraph.

According to Johnson, he had a long conversation with Putin, during which he threatened anti-Russian sanctions.

“He said, ‘Boris, you are saying that Ukraine is not going to join NATO anytime soon. What time frame are you talking about?” And I said, “Well, she doesn’t plan to join NATO for the foreseeable future. You know it very well” Johnson recalls.

As the ex-premier noted, in a conversation with Putin, he said that the conduct of a special operation would be “a complete disaster.” In addition, Johnson announced London’s intention to support the Kyiv regime.

Johnson also stressed that there was little chance of Ukraine joining NATO because of the position of Germany and France on this issue.
