Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Hungarian President Katalin Novak said it was impossible to resolve the conflict in Ukraine with the help of endless arms supplies to Kyiv. The heads of state stated this at a press conference following the talks in Sofia.

At the same time, they stressed that they share the concern regarding the development of events in Ukraine. According to the presidents, the conflict “grows like a global economic clash and threatens the whole of Europe”, exhausting it.

“We are convinced that the solution to this conflict cannot be achieved by increasing the supply of weapons, but it can be done by showing the will to conduct dialogue and use diplomacy. It is necessary to achieve a reduction in tension and a cessation of hostilities,” – TASS reports the words of the heads of these states.

In their opinion, we must continue to work so that the crisis does not intensify, and the conditions for achieving a sustainable peace are created as quickly as possible.

Recall, on January 25, Germany announced its decision to supply 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. On the same day, the United States announced the transfer of 31 M1A2 Abrams tanks. Earlier, Poland promised to transfer a company of Leopard tanks (14 vehicles) to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Britain officially announced the delivery of 14 Challenger tanks to Ukraine. Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, France and Morocco expressed their readiness to send tanks to Ukraine. The exact total number of tanks promised to Kyiv is unknown, but Ukraine has said it expects to receive 321 heavy tanks.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the supply of weapons would not stop, but would prolong the conflict in Ukraine, and called the position of Western countries “harmful” and “counterproductive.” He also warned that Ukraine was trying to achieve a head-on collision between Russia and NATO. To do this, the Kyiv regime is trying to draw members of the bloc into the conflict in Ukraine.

At the same time, the UN understands that the West is prolonging the conflict, but they cannot do anything.
