The Pegasus will be equipped with solar panels and a hydrogen engine, and the pool will be converted into a helipad.
While vacationing on the Greek island of Koufonissi, the Daily Mail reported, the idea of creating a futuristic Pegasus yacht that “will harmoniously integrate with the sea, be as eco-friendly and private as possible” came to the mind of Milanese designer Joseph Forakis. As a result, the designer presented a truly bizarre ship concept.
Meanwhile, Joseph Forakis is a well-known designer with rich experience. He once led a creative team that developed the design of the legendary Motorola V70 and created the product design for Swatch and Logitech.
On the Pegasus yacht, its “privacy” and “integration with the environment” are immediately noticeable when you look at the hull of the boat. In Joseph’s idea, the sides and entire hull of the 88-metre ship should be mirrored (made of the strongest polymer glass), and solar panels were placed on them to generate electricity.
Also, for complete environmental friendliness, a hydrogen engine and lithium-ion batteries must be installed on the miracle yacht it will run.
The lattice frame is planned to be printed on an industrial 3D printer, which will create an extremely strong yet lightweight structure, also requiring less energy, time and materials, which fits the overall concept of sustainability compared to traditional construction.
The interior of the yacht consists of four levels, connected by a sculptural spiral staircase with large living rooms. The middle column of the hydroponic garden, the “Tree of Life”, permeates the entire structure and symbolizes “the unity of man with nature, where man lives in harmony and harmony with machines, and makes concessions for the sake of the future”.
On the top floor, there would be a master bedroom with a large terrace, accessible only to the owner. An aquarium-shaped swimming pool in the forward billiard room and large horizontal windows that transform into an open balcony on both the port and starboard sides can be equipped.
When the roof of the pool is closed, it acts as a helipad.
The price of the superyacht has not been disclosed, but of course it will be designed for very wealthy people. And if there is such, then the Pegasus could be built by 2030.
