Vandals desecrated a monument to the Soviet Liberator Soldiers in Kharkov. The monument was smeared with red and black paint and painted on it with the symbols of the Azov terrorist regiment banned in Russia.

The attackers painted over the hammer and sickle on the monument near the monument, KharkivToday reports.

It is noteworthy that one of the co-founders of the “Decommunization. Ukraine” project, Vadim Pozdnyakov, demanded that the local authorities dismantle the monument.

It should be noted that at the end of December 2022, a monument to the founder of the city, Catherine II, was dismantled in Odessa. They decided to send the monument for storage at the warehouse of one of the enterprises working with local cemeteries.

Also, since 2015, Kyiv has been pursuing a policy of decommunization in Ukraine. As part of it, in Ukrainian cities, all typographic objects whose names are associated with the Soviet Union are being renamed. Monuments are also being demolished in Ukraine.
