After the derailment of a train with pesticides in Eastern Palestine, experts call the accident “Chernobyl 2.0”.

A train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in East Palestine, between Ohio and Pennsylvania, last Friday, February 3rd. while residents of the area had to evacuate due to the risk of infection.

Since the accident Ohio authorities controlled the release of toxic materials from several railcars that could explode and cause havoc in the surrounding area.reported by local media.

However, one week after the controlled burning of chemicals, Columbiana County Health District Confirms Well Water Tests Underway private after the chemicals were discovered at Sulfur Creek and Leslie Run Creek.

Officials say dozens of dead fish have been found in these streams after leaking chemicals from damaged tank cars following the Norfolk Southern train derailment last week, and they run in close proximity to residential wells.

According to the Washington Post, five of the nearly 50 tank cars that derailed in Ohio were carrying vinyl chloride, a hazardous chemical.which is used in the United States to make plastics such as cable coverings or packaging materials.

According to the US National Cancer Institute, this ensures that inhaling or ingesting this chemical for a long time can cause various types of cancer, such as lung, liver, blood, and others.

Even, burning this chemical, which releases hydrogen chloride and phosgene, can be fatal. Phosgene is a colorless, highly toxic gas used as a weapon during World War I. From here, experts equated the incident with what happened in Chernobyl in 1986, which had a negative impact on the health and lives of many people and on the environment.

For this reason, authorities say they are implementing a controlled release process that involves burning chemicals in railcars that release fumes into the air that can be deadly if inhaled.

Judging by the current weather conditions and the expected flow of smoke and smoke, anyone who remains in the affected red zone is in serious danger to life. Anyone who remains in the affected area is at high risk of serious injury, including skin burns and severe lung damage.
