On the 9th day after a powerful earthquake, Ukrainian rescuers in Turkey helped find and remove a surviving woman from the rubble. On Tuesday, February 14, images of the rescue were released by the head of the State Emergency Service, Sergey Kruk.

“This incident occurred in Sector R in Antakya, where a group from the State Emergency Service Combined Detachment was performing a search and rescue mission in one of the most difficult areas,” Kruk said on his Facebook page. .

If you remember, on February 7, the day after a major earthquake, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On February 8, the State Emergency Service reported that the first group of rescuers from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service had come to Turkey to help after the earthquake. The consolidated detachment of the State Emergency Service includes rescuers of the Mobile Rescue Center for Rapid Response, firefighters, doctors, as well as siniological teams of the Interregional Rapid Response Center.

On February 10, Ukrainian rescuers showed the first footage of clearing rubble in Hatay province. At that time, State Emergency Service workers were reported to have inspected 61 buildings since the start of the works and dismantled 35 rubble to search for victims.

Massive earthquake in Turkey and Syria
