Out of a total of $55,864 million money transfers to mexico sent by Mexicans working in the United States in 2022, 57.4% came from the 5 states, led by Californiaaccording to an analysis by the Center for Latin American Monetary Research (Cemla).
Remittances sent to Mexico from California, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, and Georgia totaled $32.050 million.
The wage bill of Mexican immigrants in these 5 states was $215.301 million and the remittances received by Mexico from these states were equivalent to 14.9% of the wage bill of these workers.
Three other states also stand out for remittances from Mexican immigrants living in the United States: Florida, Washington, and North Carolina accounted for 6.9% of total remittances to Mexico in 2022.

Gemla said the payroll or labor income earned in the United States by Mexican immigrant workers reached $319.942 million last year, reflected in a 13.1% year-on-year growth.
In California, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, and Georgia, the Mexican immigrant wage bill was $215.301 million, which meant that remittances received by Mexico from those states were equivalent to 14.9 percent of the labor income of such workers.
In addition, Cemla experts indicated that in 2022, the number of Mexican immigrant workers employed in the US averaged 7,381,463, and in the five states with the highest Mexican migration presence, it reached 4,912,615, which is 66. 6% of the total number of workers Mexican workers.
