Wanted developers found dead under rubble in Turkey

In Turkey, found under the rubble of the body of two developers of houses put on the wanted list after the earthquake due to the collapse of several buildings in Diyarbakir, writes NTV.

The bodies of the men were found under the rubble of the collapsed new building. According to the Turkish publication, the police issued arrest warrants for the men and put them on the wanted list because they were contractors for the Sözel and Dündar residential complexes.

“Celal Irkeren died in Sezel’s apartment, and Khalil Ipek died in the wreckage of Dundar’s apartment,” NTV said in a statement.

Recall, the Turkish prosecutor’s office on February 6 after the devastating earthquake launched an investigation. In a number of residential buildings, defects were found that were allowed by the developers. Investigators believe that because of the defects of the building could collapse. As part of the investigation, arrest warrants have been issued for 67 people, 15 of them have already been arrested.

Catastrophic earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred in southeastern Turkey on February 6. The tremors were so powerful that hundreds of aftershocks spread to ten provinces and even several neighboring countries, including Syria.

Earlier, Western media published calculations according to which the country’s economy lost $84 billion due to the cataclysm.
