Biden appointed 105 federal judges, ahead of Trump, Obama and Bush.

He Senate confirmed on Tuesday 100th judicial appointment President Joe Biden and as of Thursday, the Upper House has approved 105 of his candidates, surpassing the pace set by his predecessors George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump, according to ABC News.

Since the Trump administration, judicial confirmation has been the focus of a Democratic Senate majority that can now move even faster with a full majority on the Judiciary Committee, and Biden’s Senate-approved judicial election will change the demographics and professional composition of the judiciary.

The President and Democrats have welcomed this, saying it increases representation.

Conservatives take a different view, arguing that judges should not emphasize personal background because it risks distorting how their decisions are considered.

More minority judges

Biden-appointed judges include the first African-American Supreme Court justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson, as well as 23 minorities on U.S. district or appeals courts, including 17 women, Democrats said earlier this week.

More than three-quarters of Biden’s approved nominations are women, and more than two-thirds of them are non-white, according to Senate Democrats. more.

Schumer told ABC News in a statement after the 100th confirmation that “when Americans can look at our courts and see people like them, coming from their past and having similar experiences, the better our judicial system will be.”
