US asks Ukraine to launch a counterattack immediately – Politico

According to media reports, the defense situation of our country is approaching critical. And against this background, the RF Armed Forces continue to actively prepare for the offensive.

The US presidential administration demanded that Ukraine intensify its efforts at the front and launch a counterattack. Politico writes about it, citing its anonymous sources.

The media, citing US officials (who, by the way, are not named), write about several reasons for such haste:

  • Support from Ukraine’s allies in Europe may become limited;
  • Since the Ukrainian Armed Forces now freely receives technical assistance from official Washington, the counterattack should be carried out in the near future;
  • Ukraine needs to consolidate its previous successes on the battlefield;
  • The defense situation of our country is approaching critical. And against this background, the RF Armed Forces continue to actively prepare for the offensive;
  • In the US House of Representatives, Republicans may begin to confront backers of financial and technical assistance to Ukraine.

Do not forget that the media also wrote about the ultimate goals of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, which US representatives expect from our military.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a closed Zoom conference Wednesday (February 15th) with experts that the return of Crimea to Ukraine would be a “red line” for Putin. And official Washington does not want to bring the situation to such a limit.

Recall, on February 13, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that Russia has already launched a large-scale offensive in Ukraine. According to him, if the aggressor country does not have sufficient “quality” at the front, this is compensated by the number of thousands of Russian soldiers sent to fight.

Focus He also wrote that the USA would send its inspectors to Donbass. According to Pentagon representatives, a few of the 177 inspectors and inspectors who will conduct inspections directly in the combat zone may come to Ukraine in the near future.
