Polish citizens will be able to cross the borders of the European Union and Belarus at any checkpoints from March 2. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian State Border Committee.

“Given the high demand for Belarusian visa-free travel, the country’s leadership decided to allow visa-free entry for Polish citizens at all Belarusian checkpoints on the border with the EU,” – according to a statement from the department.

It is emphasized that this measure is valid from midnight March 2 to December 31, 2023.

Previously, Polish citizens could enter Belarus without a visa only on the Belarusian-Polish section of the border.

Recall that in early February, Poland closed the Bobrovniki checkpoint. Russia admitted that this may cause some difficulties with the transportation of goods. Minsk protested to Warsaw because of this. In response, from February 18, the Belarusian side restricted the entry of trucks registered in Poland into the country, allowing them to move only through the Belarusian-Polish section of the border.

Poland, on the other hand, blocked the movement of trucks at the Kukuryki-Kozlovichi checkpoint on February 21. Now trucks will not be able to enter the country from Belarus.

At the moment, only the Terespol (Brest) checkpoint operates without restrictions, through which the movement of passenger transport is carried out.

In addition, Lithuania has limited railway communication with Belarus.
