The grain deal must be extended no matter what. This was stated on his pages in social networks by the head of the UN World Food Program (WFP), David Beasley, who published a corresponding appeal in his post.

Beasley believes that all citizens of the planet face significant danger if the grain deal cannot be renewed.

“The grain agreement is expiring, and (it is – Approx. REN TV) must be extended at any cost”, — wrote the head of WFP.

David Beasley drew attention to the fact that Kyiv exports grain in such volumes, which is enough for 400 million people. Due to the grain deal, it was possible to provide food to 36 million people.

He also noted that “peace is at stake” because of the grain deal.

The “grain deal” expires on March 18. On February 27, it was reported that the terms for extending the grain deal had not yet been approved. On March 5, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow was ready to continue fulfilling the agreements in the future, but only if other participants did not renounce their obligations on an equal footing.

Recall that according to the agreements reached on July 22, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey were supposed to ensure the supply of grain from Russian and Ukrainian ports to poor countries. However, in reality, deliveries are constantly interrupted, and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan reported that almost half of the grain settles in Europe, not reaching the starving people of Africa.

On March 2, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the West was sabotaging the implementation of the Russian part of the agreements.
