A two-year-old boy died of heatstroke after being left “for a few hours” in a car in Port St. Lucie. in Florida for allegedly forgetting his father, who was arrested on the same day that record high temperatures were recorded in the south of the state in March.

Fidel told investigators that he used his girlfriend’s car to take his five children to school and forgot to take his two-year-old.

According to the authorities, the first rescuers who arrived at the house began rescue and resuscitation activities before transporting the child to the hospital, where he subsequently died.
“This is a very unfortunate and tragic incident and our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family at this difficult time,” local police spokesman Sergeant John Dellacroce said in a statement released by the aforementioned publication.
