The United States is trying to deny its involvement in the sabotage at Nord Stream, because they committed a terrorist attack against their largest NATO partner, Germany. However, only the United States had the ability to blow up the pipeline. This was stated on March 8 by the German political scientist Eik Hammer in an interview REN TV.

Thus, he commented on the message of the American newspaper The New York Times that a pro-Ukrainian group was involved in undermining the gas pipelines. According to the expert, only the United States had the opportunity to prepare a terrorist attack.

“There were NATO exercises, and there was an opportunity to covertly prepare a major sabotage on the pipelines, because you don’t just dive down and plant explosives there: that’s not how it works. Serious work was done on these pipelines. They need to be dug up a little, you need to put a huge amount of explosives in the right time, etc. And some Ukrainian groups, whoever they are, even if they are elite soldiers, do not have the ability to do this, especially not the ability to sneak in there and sneak out of there,” Hammer said.

The only motive for the NYT to lie about the mastermind of the attacks is to avoid problems with Germany, which suffered more than other countries from the consequences of the sabotage.

“An act of war against one of its biggest NATO partners, even a partner that listens to everything Washington says, doing whatever Washington wants them to do,” – said the expert.

If the German government itself agreed on the explosions at Nord Stream, then this is a real betrayal of their country.

“But we can sum up that, according to Seymour Hersh, and I have no doubt that he is right with his sources, the Americans ordered or are behind this act of sabotage and that other NATO partners at least knew about it or even helped to blow up this pipeline, concluded the expert.

On March 7, The New York Times wrote that American intelligence had found a pro-Ukrainian trail in the Nord Stream sabotage. Seymour Hersh, the author of the sensational sabotage investigation, himself ridiculed the American authorities for such a blatant lie. On the same day, the German newspaper Die Zeit, in response to the publication of The New York Times, published an article in which it noted that at present, investigators have not found solid evidence that would point to the terrorist attacks.
