American business does not want to lose the capacious Russian market. Now companies are analyzing the situation that has developed due to sanctions. Alexander Zakharov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Houston, spoke about this.

According to him, entrepreneurs continue negotiations with partners from Russia on goods that are not affected by the restrictions.

“No one wants to lose such a capacious, large Russian market. But everyone is carefully watching the current situation and analyzing the sanctions legislation, what is not subject to sanctions, what can be done”– quotes a diplomat TASS.

Recall that in early March, the US authorities had to threaten businesses with consequences due to violation of the sanctions regime. As reported REN TV, Washington is seriously concerned about non-compliance with restrictions by American companies.

After the start of a special operation to protect the Donbass, Western countries imposed tough anti-Russian sanctions. For example, they froze about half of Moscow’s foreign exchange reserves – approximately $300 billion of assets of the Central Bank of Russia and up to 20 billion of European assets of entrepreneurs from the Russian Federation.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is convinced that the effect of the restrictions is minimal. Sanctions have fallen short of expectations in many other cases in the past. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has repeatedly called Washington the biggest violator of international treaties.
