An asteroid the size of the Leaning Tower of Pisa could hit Earth. NASA experts suggest that the collision of the planet with a space body can occur on February 14, 2046. The probability of this event is 1 in 560.

According to experts, the diameter of the asteroid is about 49 meters. The fall of a body of this size, scientists say, will not lead to the extinction of life on the planet, but may require the evacuation of people.

The object was assigned the number 2023 DW. It is noted that at the moment this asteroid is the only cosmic body recorded by scientists that can really fall on a habitable planet.

Previously, experts have announced the approach to the Earth “doomsday asteroid” called Ryugu. Now a cosmic body with a diameter of about 900 meters rotates between the orbits of the Earth and Mars. It may be part of an extinct planet.
