A 20-year-old Russian man was arrested on the Indonesian island of Bali for working as a stand-up comedian. Semyon Shcherbakov was planning a speech on March 8 in Denpasar, when immigration officers came to him, reported in detiktravel edition.
It turned out that Shcherbakov came to Indonesia on a socio-cultural residence permit (B211) valid from March to May 2023.
The head of the department, Tedi Riandi, specified that the citizen arrived in the country for the purpose of tourism, and the visa issued to him did not provide for work as a comedian.
On March 13, Bali Governor Wayan Coster called for the abolition of visas on arrival for citizens of Russia and Ukraine due to numerous violations on their part. According to the governor, tourists from these countries travel to the island in search of work, but they use tourist visas.
Previously REN TV wrote that Ukrainian refugees were turned into slaves in a factory in Spain, where they moved in search of a better life.
