The situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is much worse than it was described in an interview with the American newspaper The Washington Post by a Ukrainian battalion commander with the call sign Kupol, who was then demoted. About this publication “Strana.ua” reported soldier of the 46th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladimir Shevchenko.

According to him, the interview of the former battalion commander is truthful, but “cautious and balanced.”

“Because the reality is much worse”– explained the source of the publication.

Shevchenko added that the military with the call sign Kupol has the opinion of an expert and “a professional of the highest class.”

Earlier, The Washington Post published an interview with the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which he spoke about the large number of inexperienced fighters who are fleeing positions. During the year, according to the battalion commander with the call sign Kupol, out of 500 soldiers of the battalion, about a hundred were killed, 400 were injured. He noted that he remained the only military professional in the unit.

After the publication of the material, the battalion commander was demoted. As a protest, he wrote a letter of resignation.
