Ice showers and giant hail: A new disaster has come to Turkey (photo, video)

Hail damaged dozens of vehicles in two Turkish provinces and freezing rain flooded roads.

Hail the size of walnuts fell on Kilis and Gaziantep. This was reported by the local New Age building on March 18.

According to journalists, the hail that broke out in the high parts of Gaziantep at night had a negative impact on daily life. In the city center, the drivers of vehicles had difficulty in advancing due to the rain water accumulating on the roads.

Many moving and parked vehicles were damaged by hail, but some tried to protect their vehicles from damage by covering them with tarpaulins.

There was also heavy hail in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. In the statement made by the Taif Civil Defense Directorate, the public was asked to be careful against floods that may occur due to adverse weather conditions. Residents are also advised to stay indoors as much as possible.

Recall that on February 6, a strong earthquake occurred in Turkey and Syria, followed by a dozen aftershocks. The death toll from the disaster approached 52,000.

On March 8, Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Vahit Kirişçi, said that the damage done to the country after a series of devastating earthquakes was an estimated $80 billion.

Earlier, on March 7, Louise Winton, the official representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkey, stated that the total damage from the natural disaster could exceed 100 billion dollars.
