Washington considered Crimea a good place to establish a military base and wanted to place the military on the peninsula. About this in a conversation with the radio station “Moscow Speaks” said Senator Alexei Pushkov.
“None other than (U.S. President Joe) Biden in 2015 – he was still vice president then – said that Crimea is a great place to station the American military“, he recalled.
He drew attention to the fact that after the collapse of the USSR, the alliance began to move towards the borders of Russia, but now, according to Pushkov, all of Europe is “captured.”
The senator added that the promotion of NATO does not end there, “the next ones are Ukraine and Georgia.”
Earlier, the chairman of the coordinating council of the International Association of Friends of Crimea, former Prime Minister of Slovakia Jan Czarnogursky, said that the United States was pushing Ukraine to provocations regarding Crimea, because they would like to use it to confront Russia.
