A shooting enrolled this Monday at school Lamar High School in Arlingtonlocated in the Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) metropolitan area, left two students with gunshot wounds and a suspect in custody.
The Arlington Police Department said officers responded to reports of gunshots near the school building at 6:55 a.m.
Shortly after arriving at the scene The police were able to locate and arrest the suspect in the shooting. In addition, they provided medical assistance to students injured by the shooter.
Information about the suspect or motive for the shooting is unknown.
According to police, the shooting took place on campus, but outside the school building.
“Parents, students, and community members are urged to stay away from campus while Arlington police investigate,” Arlington Independent School District spokesperson Anita Foster said in an email.
