Putin may visit China this year – Russian media

According to Russian vice president Yuri Ushakov, the Russian leader may go to Beijing at the invitation of Xi Jinping. The Kremlin has yet to set specific dates.

Russian President Vladimir Putin may visit China as early as 2023 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This was announced on Tuesday, March 21 by Yuri Ushakov, the vice-president, as the Russian edition of Izvestia reported.

“This has been discussed, I’ve already said it, and I think the possibility of a trip to Beijing this year exists,” he said.

At the same time, the Kremlin does not give specific dates for the Russian president’s trip to China.

Xi Jinping invites Putin to China

As previously reported, on March 21, Chinese President Xi Jinping, during his official visit to Moscow, invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to personally visit China this year.

During the talks, the Chinese leader said he expects Putin to make a return visit to Beijing in 2023 with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Recall, on March 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if the West and Kiev are ready for this, China’s “peace plan” can be taken as the basis for a peaceful solution in Ukraine.

On the same day, March 21, Yuri Ushakov, vice-president of Russia, said that China’s so-called “peace plan” to resolve the war in Ukraine is respected in Moscow.
