After deputies hesitated to stand up to greet the experts and teachers in the Hall of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin complained that the lack of manners and understanding of culture had led to revolutions.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, believes that historical events such as revolutions are caused by a lack of culture. The politician voiced this during the government’s reporting on Thursday, March 23.
Before starting the practical part of the event, Volodin invited the deputies to stand up and greet the representatives of the “business”.
Volodin said, “There are representatives of the business world, experts, universities in our hall. Colleagues, let’s say hello, here they are on the balcony.”
After that, the head of the State Duma deviated from one topic and expressed his opinion on the culture of society. He was angry that lawmakers stood up to greet members of the government and that voters were rarely honored with so much respect.
The Russian politician said, “This is political culture. Everything comes from the lack of culture and as a result there will be a revolution.”
“Blood and Tears”: what Volodin said about revolutions earlier
It should be noted that even before March 23, the head of the Russian State Duma actively expressed his predominantly negative opinion regarding such a socio-political phenomenon as the revolution.
In September 2021, Vyacheslav Volodin stated that Russia will not survive another revolution.
“Overcoming the tragic upheavals during the revolutionary events of 1917 and the collapse of the USSR in 1991, Russia will not survive another revolution, the populism and demagogy of individual politicians during the current election campaign is devastating.” the politician said then.
And in October 2017 he described the October Revolution as “the road to nowhere”.
“Because a revolution is always blood, always pain, always tears,” said the spokesperson of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Recall that in February 2023, Vyacheslav Volodin offered to take the property of citizens who left the Russian Federation. He also said to the citizens of Russia, who were abroad and opposed the war, “who abandoned the scoundrels”.
And in December 2022, State Duma spokesman of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin described the United States as an “empire of sdom” due to the legalization of same-sex marriage in the country. The head of the Russian parliament claimed that the number of sex reassignment operations in the United States has increased 50 times. According to him, Washington is “moving towards the corruption of the nation.”
