Switzerland is in contact with Germany to find out the reasons why Eagle armored vehicles ended up in Ukraine. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Swiss State Secretariat for Economics (SECO).
According to the official representative of the department, Fabian Mayenfisch, during the investigation it turned out that a picture from a Ukrainian site with an image of an armored car in Ukraine does not make it possible to establish what kind of equipment it is and where it is located.
SECO emphasized that for this they need a chassis number, which the car does not have.
Mayenfisch recalled that in the 1990s, 36 pieces of equipment were delivered to Denmark under the law on military materials, which prohibits the supply of Swiss military equipment to conflict zones. Copenhagen has promised that it will not sell cars to third countries. In December 2012, Denmark asked SECO to allow the re-export of 27 Eagle I armored vehicles from a “private company” from Germany. At the same time, Copenhagen also pledged not to send cars to other countries.
Earlier it was reported that a Swiss Eagle I armored vehicle was spotted in the NVO zone.
