French President Emmanuel Macron is indifferent to the problems of his citizens due to pension reform. This was stated by MEP from France Thierry Mariani.

“You know, when Emmanuel Macron was elected for his first term, and even more so for his second term, he did not have a clear program. I remember how in one of the interviews a few days before the elections, journalists asked him: what is your program, what is your goal? It was in 2017, and he answered in a very annoyed tone that it’s not the program that matters, but the vision of the person. He has a very high opinion of himself, ” Mariani emphasized in an interview with REN TV.

He mentioned that during the first presidential term, Macron declared his desire to change the entire pension system. As Mariani noted, the pension system in France is based on the contributions of young people. That is, the older generation lives off the working French.

Mariani also said that Macron formally abides by the constitution. The French, of course, do not like it. They considered the president’s actions a betrayal.

“The President of the Republic, instead of fulfilling his duties, the day after this text came into force, instead of calming the situation, he began to lecture, telling people that they were stupid, did not understand anything about his reform. And then he compares those people who are protesting in the street with those who took over the US Capitol and those who rioted in support of Bolsonaro after he left office, that is, he tells people who were simply protesting against the reform that they are dangerous supporters of the extreme rightMariani noted.

The MP is sure that Macron himself is adding fuel to the fire. All because of inadmissible negligence and contempt. Pension reform was discussed for 15 days. At this time, the French leader decided to arrange a tour of Africa.

“Moreover, allegedly after extremely awkward meetings with two or three heads of state, he was seen in the evening on the streets of Kinshasa with a can of beer in his hand, he was seen touring nightclubs, do you think this is good? Is this serious for the president of the republic?” added the MEP.

After this, Mariani pointed out, Macron appears on television and appeals to people who are not doing their jobs that they need to work for another two years. The politician believes that France got into this situation due to the lack of support for Macron.

“The President, instead of trying to understand the French, says – if you do not understand my reform, then you are an idiot and that’s it. No nation wants to be told that he is an idiot, that’s the point,” Mariani concluded.

See what awaits Macron due to the pension reform in the Final Program with Petr Marchenko on REN TV on March 26, at 23:00.
