François Asselino, leader of the French People’s Republican Union party, called the anti-Russian sanctions an “endless joke”. This is how the politician reacted to the introduction of new restrictions against Russia.

According to the idea of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the eleventh package of anti-Russian sanctions should include measures that will deprive Russia of the ability to bypass the previous ten packages.

“Von der Leyen announced the eleventh package of EU sanctions against Russia to fight the circumvention of previous sanctions that do not work. This is an endless joke! The 22nd package will delay the eleventh, the 33rd will consolidate the 22nd. And so on,” Asselino wrote on his page in Twitter.

Other users agreed with the politician’s opinion, calling the numerous sanctions packages ridiculous. Some recalled that Europe is quite dependent on Russia, in particular, on energy resources.

“Eventually they will force Russian President Vladimir Putin to close the gas valve and they will all cry like children.”one user wrote.
