French bank offices raided on suspicion of tax evasion

Law enforcement agencies in Germany and France searched the offices of banks BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, HSBC and other financial institutions on suspicion of tax evasion. newspaper Handelsblatt.

According to the publication, about 200 law enforcement officers raided several banks in the Parisian financial district of La Defense.

In addition to these financial institutions, searches also took place in one of the largest French corporate and investment banks Natixis and investment bank Exane.

The reason for such raids, according to the publication, may be a suspicion of illegal business.

Earlier it was reported that employees of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) searched the University of Delaware twice as part of an investigation into classified documents related to President Joe Biden.
