Former French prime minister and mayor of Le Havre Edouard Philippe received a death threat letter that an unknown perpetrator put in an envelope with powder. Radio France Info reports about the incident.

It is noted that the message was delivered to the reception of the city hall. After it became clear what was inside the envelope, law enforcement officers cordoned off part of the building. The mysterious contents were sent for examination.

The employees of the mayor’s office who touched the envelope were examined by doctors, but they did not notice any ailments or changes in their condition.

Now investigators are trying to determine who could send such a message to Philip. The mayor’s office believes that the incident is not related to protests against the background of raising the retirement age.

Previously REN TV wrote that the head of the shipbuilding plant in St. Petersburg was sent a package with a threat. Inside they found a bottle with a plastic tube attached to it and an unknown substance inside.
