According to Russian media, many people are running out of gas, and gas stations are starting to run out of food and water. The Ministry of Emergencies sent special equipment to tow vehicles.
In Russia, on the federal highway M-4 “Don” near the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Region, a huge traffic jam formed due to heavy snowfall, as a result of which thousands of cars were stuck in the snow. This was announced on Thursday, March 30, in the press service of the Rostov Region of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.
The most difficult situation developed in two sections of the route in the Kamensky and Krasnosulinsky districts, where the emergency mode was introduced.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said, “Heavy equipment was sent from the Frost Rescue Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies and the fire and rescue garrisons to help tow the vehicles. Heating points have been deployed. About 60 people and 40 pieces of equipment are working at the site.” The ministry said in a statement.
As they wrote on social networks, problems with traffic began in the afternoon due to abnormal snowfall. According to one of the drivers, the trucks initially blocked both lanes and got stuck in the snow and the cars could no longer pass by them.
Russians in traffic jams complain that a strong wind blows heat from cars very quickly, the Internet and communications work very poorly. Many people are running out of gas, and gas stations are starting to run out of food and water. Also, not every gas station accepts debit cards, people try to borrow money from each other.
Recall that on March 29, the Russian media reported that they heard a strong explosion in Rostov-on-Don. Later, the head of the Bataisk administration said that “there is no emergency” in the satellite city of Rostov and that “the causes of the noise are being investigated”.
Also on March 29, it was reported that the version of an explosion caused by a drone at the border office of the Federal Security Service in Rostov-on-Don was carefully examined by Russian investigators.
