Tokyo in hot summer conditions may face the threat of power shortages. The relevant material appeared in the Kyodo edition.
According to him, the capital of Japan is waiting for a very tense situation with the demand for electricity and supply. In the event of abnormal heat, electricity will not be enough.
In particular, Japanese energy companies will have to keep the reserve ratio, which shows the degree of reserve supply in relation to demand, at the level of three percent.
And at Tokyo Electric Power, it may fall to critical values, since several thermal power plants were previously stopped.
Earlier it was reported that Tokyo would continue to participate in energy projects in Sakhalin. This was stated by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Recall that in 2022 the Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects were transferred to Russian jurisdiction. Foreign participants were offered to notify Moscow within a month of their decision regarding shares in new operating companies. Japan retained participation in both projects.
