Earlier it became known about an open letter to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in which the son of the ex-chancellor of the country Willy Brandt, historian and member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany Peter Brandt proposed to start negotiations between Moscow and Kiev. The letter mentioned the importance of diplomatic negotiations. According to Brandt Jr., peace can be concluded with the Russian Federation only on the basis of international law. This appeal was approved by 200 members of the German ruling party.
