Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that he was negative about the fact that the Russian delegation led by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was not issued visas to participate in a meeting of the UN Security Council.

According to Peskov, the responsibility for issuing visas lies with the host country, which in this case is the United States.

“America must fulfill these obligations,” Peskov said.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on April 12 that Sergei Lavrov and members of the Russian delegation had not been issued visas to participate in the UN Security Council.

In March, it was reported that Washington refused to issue visas to a number of Russian delegates who wanted to take part in the information technology group at the UN headquarters in New York.
