A Kenyan pretended to be a woman at a chess tournament in order to win, but he was declassified and disqualified, reported Chess.com.

According to the source, the man decided to win the competition and take the cash prize of $3,815. He came up with the idea of impersonating a woman by wearing a niqab, a Muslim headdress with a narrow slit for the eyes. During and after the games, the man did not talk to anyone and answered questions only in writing.

At the tournament, the chess player managed to win two victories over Gloria Jumba, who was the former champion of the competition, and Ampaira Shakira, the leading chess player in Uganda.

It is reported that the man was given shoes and a gait that does not look like a woman’s. After suspicions, the player was asked to show documents. After that, the man confessed to the scam.

Earlier, scammers from Kazan deceived the unemployed for 20 million rubles. The scammers conducted “training courses for trading on the stock exchange.” The victims were chosen among people who are looking for work.
