Girls AmyLynn and JamieLynn were born with their breasts fused in October last year. They were successfully separated from each other in January after an 11-hour operation involving a team of 25 medical professionals.
Baby Amy Lynn from Texas (USA) has been discharged from the hospital and is reunited with her twin sister and parents Amanda Arcinega and James Finley from Saginaw. He writes about Yahoo News.
The girl was discharged from Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, about a month after her twin sister, Jamie Lynn, returned home. The 6-month-old baby and his twin were previously fused at chest level and facing each other. They also shared a common liver.
The publication states that the girls were born by cesarean section at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth last October and were transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit at Cook Children’s Medical Center in November.
In January, the girls successfully separated after an 11-hour operation in which a team of 25 medical professionals participated. According to hospital officials, they made history as the first pair of conjoined twins to separate at the medical center.
Jamie Lynn was able to be discharged from Cook Children’s Hospital in March, but Amy Lynn was kept in the hospital for further observation.
Previously Focus wrote that the unusual twins were born in Canada and immediately got into the Guinness Book of Records. Baby Adiya and Adrial Nadaraja were born 126 days before due date. The previous record was broken by twins in the US state of Iowa in 2018.
It was also reported that the record-breaking twins in the United States were born just 30 years later. When the embryos were first frozen, their father was only five years old, and now the babies are born years later.
