Colombia arrests drug dealer who has been extradited by the US.

Colombian authorities arrested Jesus Mosqueraa drug dealer who is being extradited by the United States for drug-related offenses, Colombian prosecutors said Tuesday.

Mosquera, according to prosecutors, was arrested in the city of Turbo, which is part of the department of Antioquia (northwest), during an operation carried out by agents of the Corps of Technical Investigations (CTI), the Colombian Navy and the National Police.

The prosecution added that Mosquera was part of a criminal network known to have exported shipments of cocaine across Uraba Bay. (northwest) heads to Central America and the USA.

The information added that “His illegal role will be related to logistics, transportation and collection of caches.; and notification of the movements of the National Fleet exercising maritime control over the Caribbean.”

The detainee was left by order of the prosecutor’s office, while procedures are being carried out for his extradition to the United States.

In 2022, the Colombian government signed 190 extradition orders.of which 83 were approved by Colombian President Gustavo Petro and the remaining 107 by his predecessor Ivan Duque.
