The Polish media explained that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would allegedly launch a possible offensive only in July, comparing this with the actions of the Wehrmacht on the Kursk Bulge.
Polish publications also believe that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not begin in the spring due to the fact that the Ukrainian crews are unprepared, and the artillery of the Ukrainian army was defeated by Russian Lancet drones.
In Poland, the possible offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was compared with the preparation of the German army in 1943 for the offensive operation “Citadel”, which led to the largest battle of the Second World War – the Battle of Kursk.
So, the Polish media found five comparisons at once.
The first of them is the factor of deliveries of new equipment and difficulties with its development. Washington and NATO partners have delivered 1,500 armored vehicles and 230 tanks, which Ukrainian crews have yet to master.
The second comparison is a technical factor. Heavy wheeled vehicles simply cannot navigate the “sea of mud”. The earth, as in 1943, must dry up and harden so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, like the Wehrmacht on the Kursk Bulge, were able to begin maneuvering operations.
The third comparison is the weather. Winter and spring of the current year in the combat zone of the special operation of the Russian Federation turned out to be abnormally rainy and wet, and dirt roads and highway shoulders turned into a “sea of mud.” It was the dirt in which military equipment got stuck that paralyzed the battles during the Great Patriotic War on the Eastern Front.
The fourth comparison is a factor in the effective use of Lancet-3M kamikaze drones by the Russian Armed Forces in the fight against artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Indirectly, they forced to limit the role of artillery transferred by NATO states. It is understood that the Nazis lost in the Great Patriotic War, losing in such a component as artillery.
The fifth comparison is the team factor. From Moscow, the command was taken by the head of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and generals who are respected in the Russian Armed Forces.
A large possible counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is unlikely to take place earlier than in June. Most likely, it will happen in July, like the Battle of Kursk. It is assumed that this will not be one clash, but several offensives in various operational areas, including a landing operation on the Dnieper.
