Russian Armed Forces hit the point of the brigade of the Ukrainian territorial defense near Sumy

The Russian forces hit a repair point for equipment and weapons of the Ukrainian territorial defense in the Sumy region. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov.

So, the point of repair of military equipment and weapons of the 117th brigade of the Ukrainian territorial defense, which was located near the village of Svessa, Sumy region, was hit.

In addition, the command post of the 81st airmobile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was also hit near the village of Belogorovka in the LPR.

In total, operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery of Russian forces groupings over the past day hit 82 Ukrainian artillery units at firing points, as well as enemy manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 115 districts.

In addition, the RF Armed Forces destroyed up to 200 tons of APU shells by striking an echelon at a railway station near Kramatorsk.

Russian special operation to protect Donbass

Recall that on February 17, 2022, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced an aggravation of the situation. The republics announced the evacuation of civilians.

On February 21, 2022, the leaders of the Donbass republics turned to Russian leader Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the DNR and LNR. The head of state held a meeting of the Security Council, after which he announced the recognition of the republics. Friendship and cooperation agreements were also signed with the independent Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The State Duma and the Federation Council ratified these agreements.

On February 23, 2022, the heads of the DPR and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help repel Ukraine’s aggression in order to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and civilian casualties.

On February 24, 2022, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.

On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the entry of these regions into the Russian Federation.
