Political scientist and former member of the Slovak Duma Peter Marchek commented REN TV refusal by the Hungarian authorities to support the foreign policy of Brussels and the course of the United States. The expert is sure that the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban acts solely for the benefit of the national interests of his country.

Among other things, the Hungarian authorities refused to change the contractor for the construction of the Paks nuclear power plant, which is Rosatom. Marchek recalled that it was the Russian corporation that once built electric plants, and everything continues to work at 100%.

“Orban and Peter Szijjártó (Minister of Foreign Affairs – editorial note) are very right not to take a step back, but to think what will be right for Hungary and for their people. Pressure from Brussels – the United States is behind all this, this is clear to everyone “said Peter Marchek.

According to the political scientist, the EU economy will fall, as the US economy is now falling, and if you do not act for the benefit of your interests, then you can start to fall after them. Marchek said that his home country of Slovakia should follow the example of Hungary and build a sovereign policy, both domestic and foreign. The expert also believes that the Slavs should unite, since the United States and Western Europe will always make efforts to quarrel the fraternal peoples.

“The Slavs are a huge nation, 400 million people: Russians, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Serbs, Croats … I know that now the unification of the Slavs is actually difficult and impossible, because the United States and Western Europe will do everything to create a conflict between Slavs There are Western politicians who said that only Slavs can defeat the Slavs” Marchek said.

Returning to the issues of Hungary, the political scientist is confident that Orban has taken the right course, and now he will not back down. This also applies to the construction of the Paks nuclear power plant, which is being carried out by Rosatom.

“Orban will not take a step back. Hungary will stand fundamentally on its decisions for its people. It is not going to complete the construction of an electric plant that will bring money and improve the country’s economy”– the expert emphasized.

Peter Marchek also said that if he were Orban, he himself would not tolerate pressure from the European Union on Hungary’s decisions.

“If I were Orban and someone put pressure on me, then I would leave the European Union myself. I founded a party in Slovakia. If I get into the Duma, then I will 100% take the first step towards leaving NATO, the second step from the European Union, the third is the destruction of sanctions against Russia”Marchek concluded.
