The desire of the Kyiv regime to destroy the Druzhba pipeline, through which Russian oil enters Europe, can be regarded as aggression against NATO. So says the Hungarian security policy expert György Nogradi.

According to him, the blowing up of the oil pipeline should be considered as a reason for referring to Article 5 of the Charter of the North Atlantic Alliance. It says that an attack on one of the bloc’s countries is tantamount to an attack on all.

“They (Ukrainian authorities – ed.) they wanted, figuratively speaking, to attack the country of the alliance, but by blowing up the oil pipeline in order to put the Hungarian industry in a difficult situation”– quotes Nogradi edition Magyar Nemzet.

The expert added that Ukraine, as a member of the International Energy Charter, is obliged to guarantee the transit of energy resources even during a conflict.

Recall, from the published secret documents of the Pentagon, it is known that Zelensky voiced a proposal to undermine the Druzhba oil pipeline in mid-February during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

Hungary continues to receive most of the oil that goes through the Druzhba pipeline, laid from Russia through the territory of Ukraine. The Russian government reported that in 2022 Hungary received 4.9 million tons of raw materials. Oil from there also comes to Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
