NATO leaders will adopt a multi-year program of assistance to Ukraine at a summit to be held in Vilnius in July this year.

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, spoke about this during a press conference in Lisbon.

“Our summit in Vilnius in July will be a powerful signal of support”he said.

According to him, the allies can agree on a strategic multi-year assistance program at the summit.

Stoltenberg said the program would help Kyiv fully switch from Soviet to Western weapons and help achieve interoperability with NATO allies.

The NATO Secretary General also welcomed the announcement of a number of countries on the supply of cruise missiles to Ukraine and the training of Ukrainian pilots in the use of Western fighters.
