The head of the Republika Srpska (an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Milorad Dodik, said that it was a great honor for him to present the order that he had previously awarded Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the Republic Day. Dodik’s words lead RTRS.

The President of the Republika Srpska called Vladimir Putin one of the most influential people in the world.

“(Putin – Approx. REN TV) represents one of the most powerful countries in the world, talks about all open issues. It is important for me to present him with the order that I awarded him on the Day of the Republic of Srpska. <...> It is an honor, it is an honor for the Republika Srpska that a person of such stature accepts our order,” – said the head of the Republika Srpska following the meeting with Putin.

Earlier, the President of the Republika Srpska awarded the Russian President with the highest award of the republic – the Order of the Republika Srpska with a chain – for special patriotic care and love for the Republika Srpska and contribution to strengthening the Russian-Serbian partnership. The award was announced on January 9 as part of the celebration of Republika Srpska Day, which caused discontent in the West.

On May 23, it was reported that Milorad Dodik told Vladimir Putin about Western pressure on the Republika Srpska. The Russian leader thanked the republic for its neutral position on the conflict in Ukraine.
